Sweet cucumber, also known as melon cucumber, was originally grown for its flavor but its recent popularity is also due to the medicinal uses. This oval fruit has yellow skin with purple streaks, the interior pulp is similar to traditional cucumber and its mild sweet flavor is similar to that of melon. Cucumber melon can be consumed fresh, as a dessert, accompanied by salads or in juice.
